Chef We are looking for a passionate, innovative Chef who is driven by a need for excellence and dedicated to producing outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients. We are an independent licensed cafe with 32 covers looking to expand our business with the launch of our restaurant side and new evening menu. As Chef you will enjoy the challenge of designing and developing the evening menu as well as updating our current day time menu. We are a small team who work hard and have fun along the way! Our ideal Chef will: - be a passionate ‘foodie’ driven by excellence and innovation with an eye for detail - have a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookery Supervision (8065-04) - have previous experience in a bistro/restaurant cooking fabulous food from fresh ingredients. - be a self-motivated, proactive, organised, dedicated individual, who can demonstrate confidence with a 'can do attitude and work well unsupervised. - be warm, friendly and genuine with excellent all round communication skills, being able to build relationships quickly with the team, customers and suppliers - have a clear understanding of profit margins, budgeting, stock control, food costing and prevention of wastage - have a sound knowledge of Hygiene, Health and Safety This is a full time position. Circa £25k per annum depending on experience Front of House This is a part time position but the candidate must be available for day and evening shifts. Our ideal candidate will: - be passionate about working in a cafe/restaurant - be flexible with hours, could be day or evening shifts - be outgoing, friendly and sociable - be observant and have good attention to detail - ideally have customer services experience - be a hard worker and be happy to turn your hand to anything - genuinely like people and have a sense of humour! Hi foxy peops! I need to get serious!! I know - it doesn't happen often. There is a rumour circulating that our Chef has walked out which is why we are looking for a new one. I am taking to FB only because this kind of rumour can be damaging, not only to our business but to my wonderful team. Our Chef is still with us, however she is staying only to the end of January. The reason for this is that our business is growing and we are wanting to open in the evenings and therefore need a Chef who can work full-time. Unfortunately our current Chef cannot work evenings due to family commitments. Our Chef is a dedicated, loyal person and we have had an amazing year full of hard work and laughs. Our whole team is sad to see her go and she is sad to leave. Our Chef would not walk out on us or anyone, this is simply not who she is. Equally. as our regulars know, we haven't got the kind of environment to make someone walk out. Please, if someone repeats the rumour to you, explain the facts to them for us. You have a choice of our sandwiches, a scone with jam and clotted cream (of course) and a choice of a slice of cake. All for £10 per person! Hellloooooo foxy peops. It is 2018 and we are full recovered from our partying (by partying I mean in bed by 10.30pm!) We have changes afoot this year so keep an eye on us! The easter eggs are on the supermarket shelves so we must have slept longer than we thought - hibernation, such a good plan!!! At the cafe, we are still in January. When Phil called me sugar pie I thought he had found a new nickname for me. It was only when I said 'yes honey bun' and saw his frightened face i realised he was talking about cake! Phil has made a sugar pie which is amazing. From his native New Zealand where a local cafe used to make one every day and sell out quickly. Served with whipped cream it is like caramelised condensed milk but lighter ....so yum

Two rashers of Bennetts back bacon, two eggs (fried, poached or scrambled), grilled tomato (or tinned), flat mushroom, two Lincolnshire sausages, Heinz baked beans and Hambletons toast all for 6.95. We will also have our freshly cooked doughnuts! I feel a Homer Simpson moment coming on.....arrrrgghhh mmmmm
